Greely is a small, mature town located about 10 minutes south of the Ottawa International Airport. Formerly of the Osgoode Township, its estimated population is just over 4,200+, although this community is well established and is home to many amenities. In 1976, under permission of the Osgoode Township Council, Greely opened a branch of the Ottawa Public Library, which was located in the local fire department meeting room. In 1990, the Osgoode Township Library Board received a grant to build a new branch, however it never came to fruition with the 2001 amalgamation and online catalogue services establish in time. There are several churches in the area, providing recreational and meeting space in addition to church services. They are the All Saints Anglican Church, the Parkway Road Pentecostal Church, and the Our Lady of the Visitation church. There are three schools servicing Greely and area residents, they are: Castor Valley Elementary School, Greely Elementary School, and St. Mary's Catholic School. There are multiple Golf courses in the area, with the Emerald Links Golf Club being the closest, there is plenty of wide open space and developed recreational facilities for all residents to enjoy.
